Mr Skin

My spam filter is catching many comments from this guy and when I first noticed them, they just looked like normal relevant comments on my posts.   For example, in response to one of my film reviews which included a bad Steve Martin movie, he wrote…”What ever happened to Steve Martin? When I was growing up, he was one of my favorite actors. Now he seems to be churning out zillions of movie which don’t do him justice. “

So, seeing as in this quiet and uninteresting little blog of mine, all comments are gratefully grasped recieved, I de-spammed his seemingly innocent comments and they were duly published to the appropriate posts.

Being the curious woman that I am, I also clicked his name to have a peek at his own website/blog.

Whoops!

I am soooo naive.  Clever little devils aren’t they.  It was a link to a porn site

He must have actually read some of my posts in order to make comments that are relevant and it is comforting to know someone’s reading this stuff so I’ll take what I can. 🙂

So…Mr Skin – what are your opinions on the resignation of Clare Short?  And do you feel that George Bush should be tried for war crimes?  What about Iraq – the violence that is spiralling out of control…what can be done?

Mr Skin…where are you?   I value your opinions.

  3. I was in the same boat you were. His comments seemed to be relevant to my posts, but they were starting to get annoying. I decided to google him after he left a comment on a 2004 post.

  4. Yes, he’s a serial spammer it seems, desperate for visitors to his sites.

Thinking about it, his name should have given me a big clue.

  6. I also got comments from Mr Skin though they were all caught in the spam filter. What cheeky people.

  7. Yes, my filter has caught most of them but one got through into this post and I had to delete it. He said that he doesn’t consider himself to be spam and his site is not a porn site. But my kids sometimes look at this blog and it’s not what I would like them to come across.

    Sorry Mr Skin.

  8. I have gotten plenty of spam hits from Mr. Skin as well. He’s the closest I’ve seen so far to a spammer capable of passing the posting equivalent of the Turing test. He’s definitely more worthy of respect than the idiots who just repeat pharmaceutical names over and over.

But I still trash all his comments.

Yes, those Pharmaceutical spammers are obssessed with viagra and the enlargement of certain body parts.
