Iran Executions

Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and UK Green party are among other groups who are fighting to save the lives of ten Iranian Arabs due to be executed tomorrow in a most brutal way. The executions follow an unfair trial whereby the men were tortured into making false confessions, were refused access to lawyers and their trials took place in secret.

These court proceedings and executions follow a long tradition of unfair trials and state killings, the process of which breaches International human rights and the International community should intervene and demand that Tehran stops this deliberate and racist targeting of Ahwazi Arabs. See these disturbing facts [source: Green party Newsletter via email]:

“According to the Ahwaz Human Rights Organization, over the course of the past year 25,000 Ahwazis have been arrested; 131 have been executed, and a further 150 have disappeared. Amnesty International has recently reported that Tehran has been imprisoning Ahwazi children along with their mothers in an attempt to force their political activist fathers to surrender to the police. Ahwazi political parties, trade unions and student groups are illegal. Arab candidates have been barred from standing for election.”

And while they’re at it, they should be forced to clean up their appalling human rights record which consist of stoning women to death for crimes of adultery and hanging young girls for crimes against chastity.

21st century and this sort of thing still occurs.
