The day Gandhi was born

“Nonviolence is not a garment to be put on and off at will.  It’s seat is in the heart, and must be an inseparable part of our being.”

Mohandas Gandhi

2 October 1869 – 30 January 1948

Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869.  A quiet, small and shy man whose movement against social injustice and message of peaceful protest continues to guide and inspire lovers of justice and human rights throughout the world.  And his ethic of nonviolence lives in the hearts and minds of people everywhere.

What better legacy?

  1. Gandhi has not died. His feats will be remembered for ever, but hypocritical that the world is, his example is not followed by massive actions as it was his desire.

To follow his example takes stamina and a convinced feeling that what all are doing is right.

  2. Thanks Jose. Sadly true.
